Couples Coaching Program

Is this your current financial life?

  • You’ve been putting off money conversations for ages (possibly years) and It’s holding you back from growing as a couple.

  • You looking to make a big financial change in life and you don’t know how.

  • You feel like there should be more money left over at the end of the month.

  • You have too many dang subscriptions (hello Paramount+) but you don’t get around to doing anything about it.

  • You’re organized in many aspects of your lives but can’t figure out how to manage your spending and goal.

  • Does it feel like this stuff should have sorted itself out by now?

Avoiding your finances is holding you back.

Today you want to be able to take bigger financial steps but you don’t know where to start.

And even thinking about working on money is anxiety-ridden because you regret making poor choices in the past.

Often, one person in the relationship is resentful that they are the ones who has to manage all the money decisions.

At the same time, your life together is becoming more complex. You’re planning to buy a home, start a family, or just save for an amazing trip to Iceland.

Just like many folks, you’re lost on how to save money and anxious about not knowing in the best ways forward, e.g., putting a bunch of money in an unremarkable savings account.

Imagine how it would feel if...

At last, you’ve cleared the air with your partner. All past money anxieties have been dealt with one by one. You’re not stressed about future money issues cropping up because you have a plan in place and you know you can tackle problems together.

Those massive item on your mental to-do list are checked off. Your rainy day savings is real and it grows every month. You’ll feel better during these uncertain times because of that security.

Indeed, you now look forward to couples money conversations! Even have it in a bar, like a date night. It’s just as easy and comfortable to discuss as planning your weekend. (Yes, it’s possible!)

Your relationship feels on very firm ground and with your money under control, you’re able to weather any financial storms. Working as a team, you both understand now how each other thinks about money.

If you two need to build a healthy long-term relationship with money, then Couples Financial Coaching is right for you.

Unlocking Financial Success Together:
The three pillars of Couples Coaching

Spend with Intention

You earn good money, so you deserve to feel great about your shopping. We’ll ensure your spending aligns with your values. Do you know how much you spend each month? (If that question makes you cringe then it’s the right question.) Let’s make sure that your shopping isn’t defined by guilt or frustration. Know for a fact that you can go to Madewell and also save for retirement.

Build your Future

You should be saving for vacations, but also rainy days. We’ll work together to increase your savings and determine when you want to reach your goals. We will work to prepare for any situation from your financial future such as home purchases, college funds, and retirement. (As well as all those frustrating monthly expenses that keep coming up.)

Do it as a Team

We’ll create a system where you both work together on your money, stress free, that lasts for years. Do you and your partner think about money the same way? Maybe not. We’re going to build a system that fits both of your unique needs and that ensures you’ll continue using it after you’re done with coaching.

How does it work?

Join my Financial Control Coaching program and I’ll be with you as you create and achieve real financial goals.

What’s included:

  • 2 x 1hr video calls for the first three months: We sit down and work on your finances together, defining what you want to accomplish and how to get tasks done. In the third month we meet once a month.

  • “Money Thursday” Email Coaching: Each week (you guessed it, Thursday) we email each other to make sure your spending speaks to your values. You understand your daily spending and your partners. #accountability

  • Unlimited Finance Check-ins: Making an offer on a house? Need to know if you can budget for new daycare? We can talk between meetings on any urgent money issue. I never want you to stress about a major problem.

  • Access to all templates that I’ve created for clients and worksheets. This is a personal approach to your finances that gives you control of your money, not just when we’re working together, but for the long term. These are systems that you can use for years to come.

The investment

Clients save on average $400-$2,500 a month. Start making smarter choices about your spending and saving immediately.

The coaching process is about helping you build a new mentality around money that will last your lifetime.

  • Go from “being stressed about each bill” to “knowing you have the money on hand.”

  • Stop having arguments about spending and instead support your shared goals.

  • Build a team so you never again feel alone when managing your finances.

Fee Structure

  • $1,250/month for the first three months

  • $625/month starting in the fourth month

What if I’m ready but… my partner isn’t interested in working on our money?

There is a solution!

I hear this all the time and I work with many individual clients who are in relationships. What’s amazing is that the program builds structure and intention to your financial life regardless if everyone is in the session.

Here’s what my clients are saying:

Dylan has been an informed advisor, creative coach, and smart mediator within a couple relationship.

And working with Dylan is an investment that pays off! I think the accountability of a coaching relationship is what is most valuable. We can all find ideas on the internet, but having a coach to challenge, and expand our thinking, and keep us focused on our goals made a huge difference.

For example, just by following his advice to move funds to a high yield savings account, we made the money back that we had spent on coaching. I had planned to move funds to a high yield account FOR YEARS after reading about it in his newsletter....but it wasn't until we had the accountability and education that we were able to get that ROI. Also... it's fun! :D

Shannon & Josh Kenyon

Working with Dylan transformed our lives!

We were living beyond our means, wracking up unnecessary debt and wondering why we were living paycheck to paycheck, despite earning good money. In just under a year we are now living within a comfortable but realistic monthly budget and we’ve been able to save an abundant emergency fund.

Dylan knows his stuff. He works with you to help you achieve your goals and best of all, he makes it fun.

Rachel & Joe Fulginiti

Dylan really helped us be able to talk about money, look at money, and plan for the future in a manageable and stress-free way. We now know how much we spend in an average month, we have short term goals, we have savings that is growing. What was once both a black hole and a too-bright sun (something that we didn't want to look directly at and also a great scary mystery) is now something that we use to work for us. We feel empowered and excited about our financial future.

Everyone should feel confident and competent with their own money, and Dylan teaches you how to do that. You don't have to be afraid of your own bank account or completely rudderless when it comes to meeting financial goals. Dylan is so approachable and non-judgmental and really meets you where you are.

Kassia and Pat

Before Dylan, we didn’t really know how to prioritize spending goals and what that would look like.

He helped us create a system that worked and now we have a clear sense of what we have, where it is and what it’s going to be used for. He also got us in the habit of checking our spending and that was sobering. We had no idea how much we had been spending on Postmates... yikes!

Amanda & Chris

What we were able to achieve with Dylan’s guidance—both for our relationship and our finances— is remarkable and sustainable.

We often joked that Dylan was as much a financial therapist as he was a financial educator—he allowed us to chart our own path forward financially, not with the latest hot-stock tips or investment strategies, but instead by helping us define our financial priorities and then giving us the tools to achieve them.

Perhaps as important, Dylan taught us to engrain these practices into our daily life, allowing us to “graduate” from his guidance and continue these practices independently. Our only regret from this experience was not starting our journey with Dylan sooner.

Cate & Cory Johannessen

The amount we saved by working with Dylan is extraordinary

He made the financial stuff that we typically hate palatable and painless. In a year that could have been a complete financial spiral (first year with our child, plus the global pandemic), working with Dylan helped us save money and get to a comfortable place planning for our future as a family.

Meredith & Steve

Before working with Dylan having hard conversations about money always seemed like a problem for "later".

Working with Dylan helped us remove the fear and mystery around money. I feel a lot more practiced at identifying and discussing desires, challenges, and solutions around money.

Many people are knowledgeable about money and finances, but Dylan actually knows how to talk and listen to people and help you find solutions that are specific to you and your life. In working with Dylan, my wife and I have always felt very welcomed and comfortable as an LGBTQ couple.

Teresa and Daniella

Hi! My name is Dylan and I love seeing couples start to talk about their money in a healthy way.

As a coach it’s so rewarding when couples come together and create a plan that works for them both, getting rid of all their money worries one by one. I’m lucky to be able to teach couples how to spend smart, build a better future, and do it together without all the stress and anxiety. (And maybe a bit of fun.)

Personally, I’m excited for that first session because we see results immediately. For many couples this is the first time they’ve talked to anyone about their money problems and it immediately lifts a burden from them.

With each session we tackle real, specific, concrete tasks to get your finances in order.

You’ve been waiting years to get something done, and honestly, it’s never as hard as you think it will be.
