๐ŸŽ† SMALL But Also BIG - Actions For 2024

My goals for 2024:

โœ… Weโ€™re going to keep more house plants alive. (Aiming for 51% to be exact!)
โœ…Kids will eat more than one vegetable a year.
โœ…Iโ€™m going to keep buying nice shampoo even though cheap shampoo does the same thing but itโ€™s probably bad?

And I want this to be the year you take control of your finances. Finally!

Take control! Goodness, Dylan. I get a win if I just take a shower before noon.

Control is about taking very small steps.

Example from just last week:

I started with a couple in December, and after our first session, they examined their spending and they knew right away where they could make a big cut:

โ€œWe do Instacart, which we know bumps up their prices, but we got kind of addicted to it during Covid.โ€

๐Ÿ›’ It was costing them $85 a week.

And they stopped easily after our first week together.

How much do they save with this simple change:
$85 a week.
$4,420 a year.
$44,200 in a decade!
(And yes, They were four years into Instacart, so a decade seems very possible.)

So starting off this year, I want you to know that taking some small actions can make MASSIVE changes to your life.

Here are a five tiny steps you can start TODAY:

โžก Set Up a Savings Transfer
Time: Three minutes

Transfer $25 a week to your savings. Youโ€™re building a new habit; weโ€™ll add more as time progresses.

๐Ÿšฎ Unsubscribe from Shopping Newsletters
Time: Two minutes

Go through your email inbox and unsubscribe from marketing emails from retailers. Yes, even the ones you still shop with! Remove the temptation.

๐Ÿ“… Review Your Monthly Subscriptions
Time: Seven minutes

Quickly list out all your monthly subscription services (streaming, gym, magazines) and cancel any that you no longer use or need.

๐Ÿ“ Create a Shopping List
Time: Four minutes

Before you head to the store or shop online, jot down what you actually need to buy. Having a list will stop impulse purchases that Amazon, Target, and Costco rely on.

๐Ÿฆ Check Your Bank Balances
Time Needed: One minute

Knowing where you stand financially helps you decide how much you want to spend.

Consumerism doesn't control us as much as we think. You can make these small changes to start feeling great about money and your future.
